For Pokemon fans...

Pink woke up with a start, she had overslept! It was 11 o’ clock in the morning and she was late for her first day at Bleu Village’s School for Trainers. ‘AAAAaaaaaargh!’ she shrieked as she realized the time, ‘I gotta get there quick!’. Fortunately, Pink had a bike so all she had to do was dress,  collect her Mudkip from Daycare and get to the school, her long, brown hair streaming behind her as she rode fiercely through the undergrowth to the clearing in the woods.  Thus started Day 1.

Bleu Village's School for Trainers was a modern-looking  establishment, rectangular in shape but small in size, from what would be expected, which contrasted well with the surrounding woods, with a large Pokéball adorning its sleek glass front. The Mudkip, newly acquired from Daycare, after raising it from an egg refused to obey her once she had released it from its Pokéball. She did so once she had arrived at the school but had to carry it in her arms into it, dashing her fantasy that it would immediately follow her every command.
’You’re late!’ Shrieked a tall woman with brown hair in a bun, wearing a business suit and glasses, adding to Pink’s anxiety.
‘I’m sorry’, muttered Pink, ashamedly.
‘Your first class has started.’ stated the secretary, as if no explanation was necessary, pointing to a door on her right. Pink returned the Mudkip to the Pokéball, timidly knocked on the door and was welcomed in by a Makuhita seconds later.

‘Glad you could join us,’ drawled a bored, tweed clad man, indicating a seat at the front of the classroom. ‘Today we will be learning about the various items a trainer has at his or her disposal, including potions, antidotes and burn heals. These are primarily to aid the trainer’s Pokémon in battle.’ Continued the tutor.
‘This lesson is boring!’ Interrupted a boy with his Poochyena at his feet, ‘We all know that Pokémon that need help in battle are weak and pathetic! Who would want one that relies on items for victories? Mine will do well from the start and show no mercy!’
‘Then yours will faint!’ Yelled the tutor, his passion reignited, interrupt my class again and I’ll have Makuhita restrain you!’

‘Ha! I’d like to see it try against Poochyena’s sharp bite! Retorted the boy in fierce anger, furious at the apparent lack of respect.
‘Go, Makuhita! Armthrust!’
‘Fang, use bite!’ Yelled the boy. But Poochyena was too slow and fainted to Makuhita’s Armthrusts to the class’s amazement.
‘This is why it is important to pay attention, class. Had Jack known that fighting type is super‐effective against dark types, he would have known he would lose.’ Snarled the tutor.
'Humph!' Grunted Jack.
Continues in the next issue (God willing)...
